This place is called “Bounty beach” by the locals and served as the background for an advertisement for “heavenly” coconut bars. It is also the largest natural reserve of the endemic species of the Cretan date palm.
As you travel to the eastern tip of Crete, you will enjoy spectacular views, sun-baked vineyards and azure rocky coves. However, the culminating point will be the paradise beach of Vai.
After sun and sea baths, you will rest in the shade of majestic palm trees. Vai Beach, with Europe’s largest natural palm forest, does not need to be advertised. This light-sand beach has been voted one of the 20 most beautiful beaches in the Mediterranean.
Fully relaxed, on the way back, we will see the unique Toplou Monastery, whose architecture is associated with fairy-tale landscapes.
We will also stop for a walk around the picturesque town of Sitia. It is located on one of the bays of the eastern coast of Crete, famous for producing excellent olive oil and wine.
