While in Crete, treat yourself to a day in paradise and see the most famous lagoon in Greece. For years, this place has been at the one of first positions of the world’s rankings for the most beautiful beaches and lagoons.

    Tour description

The Balos Lagoon is located at the north-western tip of the Gramvousa Peninsula, at the very western end of Crete. The best way to reach it is to go on a cruise with us.

We will take you on a cruise ship on a one-hour cruise around the peninsula, during which you will be amazed by the seascapes and colors of Kissamos Bay. Azure, blue, all shades of blue and sea color will accompany us on this trip. The sea waters surrounding Crete are among the most beautiful in the entire Mediterranean, which you will see with your own eyes by setting out with us on this sea expedition.

The first stop of our cruise will be the desert island of Gramvousa, where you will find ruins of a Venetian fortress at the top. From there is a fantastic view of the peninsula and the Balos lagoon. How the fate of this fortress turned out, who built it here and why, and why it is called the island of pirates – you will learn from our guide.

The second stop is the famous Balos lagoon. A place as popular in guidebooks about Greece as Santorini. This place’s almost magical colors and wild natural charm have been delighting visitors to Crete for years. That is why so many people leave very early in the morning from the other end of the island to see this natural wonder. We can confirm that it’s worth it. The views from the path ascending the Gramvousa Peninsula, overlooking the Balos Lagoon, are like bird’s-eye views… and it’s only a short walk, after which you return with a head full of delight to cool down in the lagoon’s azure waters.

    Why is it worth it?

    • because you will see one of the most beautiful lagoons in the world
    • you will hear the history of Gramvousa Fortress and learn interesting information about Crete
    • you will see the various landscapes of the island accompanying us on our way to the port
    • you will be delighted and your eyes will be filled with heavenly views
    • and as a souvenir, you will take a beautiful tan and the smell of the sea wind on your skin and stunning photos
