The small island of Dia, located off the northern coast of Crete, is inaccessible to large cruise ships. Only private yachts can go into its idyllic bays.
The island has retained its original character and is now inhabited only by wild Kri-kri goats and a few other protected animal species.
As a result of exploration of the seabed near the island, the sunken ruins of an ancient port and a 17th-century French ship were found. Dia’s shape resembles a dragon, which was reflected in myths. The seabed here is fantastic, and the clarity of the water amazes the divers. You can observe equally large sea fish and meet shoals of tiny fish and sponges. Visiting the island will be a lot of fun, and the wild landscape will complete the whole.
